Ashland High School

A Cappella Choir

This select choir from Ashland High School continues a long-standing tradition of choral excellence under the direction of Nathaniel Duvuvuei.  The A Cappella Choir has a rigorous performance schedule throughout the school year.  They have been invited to perform with the choral ensembles of Ashland University and the University of Akron.  The choir has also been invited to perform in many area concerts.

Nathaniel Duvuvuei

Nathaniel Duvuvuei moved to Ohio from West Virginia where he received his Bachelors degree in Music Education from Alderson-Broaddus College.  He then earned his Masters of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Akron.  Mr. Duvuvuei is also an accomplished tenor, performing both stateside and abroad.  Performances included appearances as a guest soloist for the Archbishop at the Mozarteum and at the Salzburg Cathedral in Austria.  As a member of A Cappella Nuance, an a cappella vocal jazz ensemble, Mr. Duvuvuei won first place in the Seghizzi 45th Concorso Internazionale di Canto Corale in Gorizia, Italy.  Mr. Duvuvuei also performs with Singers Companye, a professional choir under the direction of Samuel Gordon.  With Singers Companye, Mr. Duvuvuei recently performed a concert tour of Italy and a program of Native American songs at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.  Mr. Duvuvuei currently resides in Ashland, Ohio with his dog, Milo.
