The ASO kicks off the 40th anniversary season and commemorates the 200th anniversary of Felix Mendelssohn's birth with a performance of his violin concerto featuring Aaron Berofsky. This was Mendelssohn's last large orchestral work and one of the most popular and frequently performed violin concertos of all time. Local violinist Julie Castor will join Berofsky for a movement of Bach's double violin concerto.
